Characters @ DRÄXLMAIER
Claus Wünschmann Specialist IT Solution Sales
What was your application process like?
That was done quickly - it only took four weeks from the first telephone interview to the signing of the contract. I've been working for DRÄXLMAIER since mid-September 2019 and was welcomed with open arms in a great working atmosphere from the very first moment.
Why did you choose this job?
Since I lived in Landshut for the first 20 years of my life, I was familiar with DRÄXLMAIER which is located nearby in Vilsbiburg. I heard about the opening of a new office in Munich from two friends who both work there. I then took a closer look at the product portfolio and found that DRÄXLMAIER has become a very interesting and modern global player that has kept pace and developed with the times, from human resources to IT to production and sales.
What does your typical working day look like?
As a sales specialist, I am the contact person in IT for all sales inquiries. My calendar is accordingly full of meetings: While I clarify processes and system behavior with the departments, I have to define the resulting requirements for my colleagues from development. As soon as the change is ready to test, I will sit down with the key users to check the result. We mainly work with agile methods. The main part of my time is currently occupied by a major project, where I´m involved in the process design and implementation of the future sales landscape.
What's great about your job?
I feel like I am learning something new every day. Sometimes it can be really exhausting - at the end of the day you sometimes don't even know what you've done. But my job also gives me a deep insight into the most varied processes in the automotive industry. In addition, the various IT topics keep me up to date with the latest technology. Due to the diversity of requirements from the different company areas, I was able to set up a network in all working levels of IT and the departments in a very short time.
What challenges does your job present?
The processes in the automotive industry are complex and the IT requirements are correspondingly high. Everything has to run like clockwork in productive operation. You have to be careful when it comes to designing a solution and managing a test. And then you should bring a certain serenity and flexibility with you, if it doesn't work as planned ...
What makes your team special?
That anyone on my team is really a partner in crime.
Why is your employer a good fit for you?
Despite the size of the company, it is a family business which doesn't make me feel like a small wheel in a large gearbox. I feel that the commitment of the employees is correspondingly higher. I also have a lot of freedom in my position and in solving my tasks, which has also expanded my area of responsibility.
