Vasile, finance manager in Satu Mare, Romania has been working at DRÄXLMAIER since 2014
As a finance manager, I am responsible for coordinating the activities within the Controlling Department and being a business partner to the plant manager, to ensure cost-effectiveness and strategic decisions.
I started my career at DRÄXLMAIER Satu Mare 11 years ago as a junior controller. My main tasks were basic financial month-end closing steps, order approvals, and monitoring cost center budget deviations.
In 2017, I took on a new challenge. I transferred to DRÄXLMAIER Pitesti for two years to coordinate the Controlling Department. This helped me develop a lot, as I was directly responsible for yearly budget planning, monthly forecasts, and high-level management reporting.
I returned to Satu Mare, and since 2022, I have been responsible for the team here.
What do you find most fulfilling in your work?
I love the fact that it’s a very dynamic job — each day brings a different type of challenge. From my position, I get to connect with all departments and gain an overall understanding of what’s happening, what the challenges are, and sometimes even offer solutions.
What are your favorite hobbies or interests?
I would have to say traveling and food tasting — and the two go very well together. I get the chance to travel around the world, discover new places, and at the same time embrace cultural and culinary diversity.
I also love hiking. So far, the highest peak I’ve reached on foot is Pietrosul Rodnei (2,300 m), which turned out to be much more challenging than I had imagined. It was a 10-hour difficult round trip, but the reward at the top was absolutely worth it — a spectacular view and a moment of inner peace.
Which of your qualities are you particularly proud of?
I consider myself a detail-oriented person, which goes hand in hand with the job I have, as it’s important to work with correct and accurate information. At the same time, I have a very determined personality, which helps me push through both professional and personal challenges.
