Once again the largest team

The “Landshut Läuft” charity run organized by the Landshut-Wittelsbach Lions Club took place for the 17th time. All entry fees for the largest running event in the region go 100% to social projects for children and young people. Over 4,200 runners took part in the race. As in the previous year, DRÄXLMAIER once again provided the largest team with 158 participants.
Focus on social projects
As a partner of the region, DRÄXLMAIER is committed to numerous cultural, sports, educational and social projects. For this reason, the company paid the entry fee for “Landshut Läuft”, which traditionally benefits children's and youth projects in the region, for the participating employees. In addition, DRÄXLMAIER looked after the colleagues taking part on site and, together with the company medical team, provided medical care for the participants.
"The DRÄXLMAIER bus at the Ländtor was the meeting point for our employees. As well as handing out race numbers and a ‘survival pack’ consisting of glucose and magnesium, personal items could also be stored here. We were also able to provide emergency medical care for the runners and the public, which was unfortunately also needed. I am delighted that so many cheerful employees took part in this wonderful charity event,“ says Julia Scholz, who works in occupational medicine and is responsible for the company's internal ‘betterworkplace’ program, which coordinated all DRÄXLMAIER activities related to ”Landshut läuft".
Doing sport together and supporting a good cause
The employees of DRÄXLMAIER were represented in all four disciplines of “Landshut läuft” - the half marathon, the 5 and 10-kilometer run, as well as in the Nordic walking group. All participants were united by the joy of sport. “It was a great feeling,” reports Barbara Gerber, Head of International Training, who successfully completed the 5-kilometer run. "It was my first time at ‘Landshut läuft’ and I was impressed by how many DRÄXLMAIER colleagues actively took part and what they achieved. It was really fun to be out and about together on Sunday," said Gerber, who also praised the organizers of the event. “The support provided by our occupational health department was particularly excellent.”
“It's a great feeling to be part of this big team”
Richard Schumann from Ideas Management, who also completed the five kilometers, was also full of praise: “The event was really well organized again. Everyone was well looked after. It's always something special when you have a common goal with so many colleagues from so many different departments.”
Apprentice Tobias Atzensberger took part for the second time. With a time of under 20 minutes, he was not only one of the fastest DRÄXLMAIER participants, but also finished in a very good 19th place of all starters over the five kilometers. Nevertheless, the focus for him was on having fun. "It was a great feeling to be part of this big team. At the finish line, a colleague who was faster than me came up to me to give me a high-five, which I thought was just great and a huge support," says the apprentice.
