Fun, discipline and a great team
The players Julian Kornelli, Yannick Wenzel, Luca Zitterbart and John Rogl answered questions from DRÄXLMAIER employees on February 25th in the Fanatec Arena.
The employees and their companions were first welcomed to the stadium last Tuesday by Thomas Dumps, architect of the now completed renovation of the Fanatec Arena. They then went through the entire arena, up to the highest seating tiers and finally onto the ice for a group photo. Thomas Dumps explained many factors that had to be taken into account during the renovation of the stadium and gave interesting insights, for example into its color scheme. He explained that a simple design and the neutral colors grey and black were deliberately chosen so that the team and fan colors stand out during games and the transition from the “old” arena to the new, expanded parts is barely noticeable.
In the footsteps of the pros
Then it was off to the inner sanctum - the EVL first team's dressing room. Co-trainer Christoph Schubert and athletics coach Adrian Schelenz welcomed the guests there and gave exciting insights into the team's everyday playing and training life in the form of a dressing room talk. The employees also had the chance to take photos with the jerseys of “their” players.
Another program highlight awaited the employees in the EVL's new VIP lounge. Max Brandl, management consultant, forwards Julian Kornelli and Yannick Wenzel, as well as defensemen Luca Zitterbart and John Rogl were waiting there for the employees. In a relaxed atmosphere, after a short round of introductions, they answered the numerous questions from fans young and old. Among other things, the employees were interested in finding out which opponent the team would like to face in the playoffs, how the players keep themselves occupied on the bus during away games, what plans they have for their lives after their sporting careers and what advice they would give to the next generation of ice hockey players.
At the end of the evening, the employees had the opportunity to get autographs from the players and take selfies together.
