Experiencing technology at Vilsbiburg Elementary School

At Vilsbiburg Elementary School in Germany, children spent six afternoons playfully discovering the world of electronics. Two mechatronics apprentices accompanied the “SET – Students Discover Technology” project, which involved soldering, building, and experimenting.

Together, they created LED flashlights, alternating indicators, and small sirens – and at the end, the children were proud to take the finished kits home with them. Enthusiasm, curiosity, and the fun of doing things yourself were the focus of the project. The apprentices found the project particularly motivating and were delighted with the group's rapid learning progress.

The program, sponsored by “TfK – Technik für Kinder e.V.” (Technology for Children), impressively demonstrates how technology can come to life when children are allowed to try it out for themselves.
