Risk Management Operations

"Sustainability is the foundation for healthy long-term growth.”

In which area do you work at DRÄXLMAIER? What do you do in your job?

I work in Risk Management Operations. There, I coordinate business risks within Operations and sustainability issues. Together with my colleagues, we identify, assess, and mitigate risks to strengthen the organization’s resilience.

How is your role related to sustainability?

I work closely with the central sustainability team, particularly in the area of logistics. We coordinate initiatives worldwide and leverage synergies. Another focus is the further development of reporting requirements and standards. Together, we develop solutions that improve our sustainability performance.

How does your work contribute to the DRÄXLMAIER Group’s sustainability goals?

A large portion of CO₂e emissions originates in logistics – for example, from transportation, packaging, and processes in logistics centers. Standardized methods for emissions accounting make it possible to compare different approaches. This allows us to specifically select lower-emission solutions while simultaneously improving cost-effectiveness.

How does it feel to be part of this transformation?

It motivates me to prepare our company for future challenges. At the same time, we continually ask ourselves where our measures are sufficient and where we can still improve.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

Sustainability will continue to grow in importance. This transformation brings both challenges and opportunities. If we take advantage of them, we’ll strengthen our competitiveness.

What does sustainability mean to you personally?

For me, sustainability means making responsible decisions and balancing social, environmental, and economic aspects. Transparency helps me make well-informed decisions.

How relevant do you think the topic of sustainability is?

Sustainability is the foundation for healthy, long-term growth. It’s crucial to consider economic, environmental, and social aspects together – not in isolation.

How does sustainability affect you outside of work?

In my daily life, I try to find a good balance between stress and relaxation. Exercise, spending time in nature, and interacting with other people – which helps me consciously reflect on my behavior – are particularly helpful in this regard.
