Your tasks
As a Technical Model Maker, you will plan and produce models or model equipment. You will develop specific model drawings and manufacture model parts from different materials, in particular through manual and mechanical clamping.
Your requirements
You must have at least a secondary school diploma comparable with a US High School Diploma or the British GCSE (“qualifizierender Hauptschulabschluss” in Germany); you must also have a very good grasp of math and technology, and already have some experience in technical drawing. Creativity and the ability to work in a team complete your profile.
Your future
After graduating, you can take the master craftsman's examination, continue your education as a technician, or start working on a college degree, for example, in the field of wood and plastics technology.
