How would you describe your sustainable commitment?
My two uncles are organic farmers in Bodenkirchen and Münchsdorf near Vilsheim and have founded a sustainable start-up. They grow healthy, organic and regional food for their products or source them from producers who disclose the origin of the products - for example, you can see the producer's information on every package, even with a photo.
I am responsible for the start-up's social media channels and regularly post on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. In this way, we want to provide insights and share our knowledge about the production of good food.
Where does your motivation for your commitment come from?
I'm very interested in nutrition and sport and, in addition to my training at DRÄXLMAIER, I've also trained as a nutritionist and fitness trainer. That's why I'm passionate about sustainable and healthy food and have learned an incredible amount about how to treat nature well in agriculture while working with my uncles. For example, how important it is to maintain the quality of the soil so that the nutrient content and quality of the food is right. Or that organic crop rotation and the cultivation of catch crops can improve soil quality and build up humus as a CO2 reservoir.
Do you also strive for a sustainable lifestyle in your everyday life?
Healthy eating is important to me, which is why I buy seasonal and regional produce and pay attention to the quality of the food. This supports local agriculture, does something for your own health and is also better for nature. I have also reduced my meat consumption.
Do you have any more practical tips and tricks for more sustainability in everyday life?
Walking and cycling! I live in the countryside and you certainly need a car for long distances, but you can also manage a lot on foot.
