Supporting a good cause

06. August 2012 Duncan, August 6, 2012. – Dräxlmaier donates $ 2,500 to nonprofit mobile meals service.

As a socially responsible partner to the local community, the Dräxlmaier Group regards supporting their neighbors in need as an integral part of its business activities.

Draexlmaier Automotive of America has lived up once again to this philosophy by donating $2,500 to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, S.C. The nonprofit charitable organization provides warm meals to those who cannot afford or are unable to prepare food on their own. With about 1,500 individuals in Spartanburg County to service daily, Mobile Meals is one of the biggest non-government supported food kitchens in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Stefan Bude, president and CFO of the Dräxlmaier operations in the Americas, presented the donation on Aug. 6 to Mobile Meals’ director of development, Susan Spires.

“We rely on a tremendous amount of support from volunteers and the help of corporations like yours to help us come up with the resources we need to continue serving the elderly, homebound and frail,” Spires said. “It takes a lot of support and a lot of volunteers to keep doing what we do, so we are very grateful to count companies like yours among our supporters.”

Bude agreed: “Giving back to the community is our way of saying ‘thank you’ for making us a part of it,” he said.
