"I really enjoy my work"

04. August 2016 Three young migrants start vocational training at DRÄXLMAIER on September 1st.

Three young migrants will launch their professional careers with the DRÄXLMAIER Group. Sultan Kahsay and Nasef Laham will begin their apprenticeships as mechatronics engineers on September 1st and Zaher Abdoun will begin his training as an IT specialist in the new training year.

The three young men were able to get to know their future professional careers even before the commencement of their training. Sultan Kahsay and Nasef Laham have been taking an EQ course at the company since the 1st of March. The so-called entry qualification is comparable to  practical training and focuses on the training elements of recognized trainee occupations. That enables the EQ course to create a bridge to vocational training. "In the EQ course, I learned a lot about the work of a mechatronics engineer. I like the work a lot", said 26-year old Eritrean Sultan upon signing the apprenticeship contract.

"We are one large Family"

Zaher Abdoun, who like Nasef Laham came to Germany from Syria, recently passed the exam for the qualifying secondary school certificate and at the same time was an IT specialist trainee at DRÄXLMAIER. "I like the internship very much. I just like doing what I do and am very much looking forward to the training", he said.

"As a family-owned company, the DRÄXLMAIER Group bears great responsibility towards society. Vocational training offers young migrants very good career opportunities", said the DRÄXLMAIER Group Director of HR Roland Polte. Barbara Gerber, who is responsible for the training at DRÄXLMAIER is proud of welcoming the three young men as trainees. "Sultan, Nasef and Zaher demonstrated outstanding integration into the community from the very start", said Gerber.

The future trainees feel very comfortable in the team. "The colleagues and the trainers are always very friendly", said Sultan. "Whenever I need something explained, there is always someone there straight away to help me. We are one big family", said 21-year old Nasef.

New EQ participants as of October

The DRÄXLMAIER Group will continue enabling young migrants to start their careers by obtaining the entry qualification. New EQ participants will begin on the 1st of October. "The entry qualification enables both us as an organization and the trainees to get to know each other better. In addition to that, it will ideally prepare young people for vocational training from a technical and language point of view", said Gerber.
