Dräxlmaier honored with VW Supplier Excellence Award

06. September 2012 Duncan, September 26, 2012. – Award recognizes supplier’s successful partnership with Volkswagen Group of America.

The Volkswagen Group of America recognized the Dräxlmaier Group with the 2012 Supplier Excellence Award for the category Parts Logistic.

The company was one of three winners that received the VWGoA Service Part Integration Day in Detroit on Sept. 26. The two other winners were Axiom Plastics and Hanwha L&C Alabama. Overall, 89 suppliers of the VW factory in Chattanooga, Tenn., were registered for the annual event. “The award confirms the outstanding work of our team in the Americas and strengthen the good cooperation with our customer Volkswagen Group of America,” said Dr. Phillip Mayer, Dräxlmaier’s director of sales for Volkswagen North America.

The award was based on the following criteria: customer service, logistics and quality performance, flexibility and responsiveness. Response time spent to an issue and instantaneous problem resolution were additional factors in the selection of the three winners. “It is an honor to receive this Supplier Excellence Award from the Volkswagen Group of America,” said Attila Kis, key account manager at Dräxlmaier’s VW customer service center in Duncan, S.C. “It makes me proud for the hard work we have done all together.”

Samantha Elder, sales engineer at our Duncan VW CSC, attributed this most-recent success to the open dialogue and immediate response to the needs of Volkswagen. “I think that really made a difference,” she said.

A supplier and development partner of the Volkswagen Group in North America since 2007, the Dräxlmaier Group currently provides the VW plant in Chattanooga with customized wiring harnesses and electrical components for the VW Passat from its locations in Puebla, San Luis Potosi and Lagos de Moreno, Mexico. In order to quickly respond to customer concerns, the company operates a customer service center at its North American headquarters in Duncan, S.C. It also maintains a field office inside its sequencing warehouse, which is located in the VW Supplier Park next to the Chattanooga plant.
