DRÄXLMAIER Braunau named „Plant of 2016“

25. November 2016 It ranks among the best plants in Austria.

One of the subsidiaries of the premium automobile supplier DRÄXLMAIER, the Elektro- und Kunststofftechnik GmbH (EKB), has been named "Plant of 2016". The journal Industriemagazin and Fraunhofer Austria grant this award every year to those companies that render outstanding services in the area of production.

"Plant of 2016" is Austria's largest competition for producing companies. An expert jury consisting of representatives from science and economics assess the participants' inventory management, logistics and customer and supplier relationships. In the grand finale in St. Valentin, the participants present their organizations and answer the questions of the jury. After the ninety-minute session, the jury announced the eagerly awaited decision: the DRÄXLMAIER subsidiary ranked third. The others on the winner's platform included Kostwein Maschinenbau from Klagenfurt and Rosenbauer International from Leonding. "The grand finale included top class organizations. It was great to be able to compete with other outstanding companies", said Michael Voichtleitner, Head of Industrial Engineering at DRÄXLMAIER.

The success of the DRÄXLMAIER company – both in daily production work and in the competition - was based on a sound data analysis. "Data is the basis for planning, for state analyses, for optimization and for continual improvement", explained Voichtleitner. It is important to recognize potential – and also to use it. "We are currently in a continual improvement process. We are continually working on optimizing the processes and increasing efficiency", continued Voichtleitner.

The DRÄXLMAIER Group has been operating at the site in Braunau for more than three decades. About 500 employees use the most modern techniques to develop and make innovative electrical, electronic and injection molded parts. "The award as Plant of 2016 is a great honor for us. At the same time, it acts as motivation for us to continue developing", said the Plant Manager Günter Sauerlachner.
