Award for Cooperation with Porsche

04. July 2017 The DRÄXLMAIER Group wins the Volkswagen Group Award 2017.

The DRÄXLMAIER Group received the Volkswagen Group Award 2017 in the "New Mobility Solutions" category. This prize acknowledges the successful cooperation between the supplier and the premium brand Porsche. "On behalf of the Volkswagen Group, I would like to thank you and your employees in particular for your commitment and achievement over the past year", said the VW Purchasing Director Dr. Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz at the festive awards presentation at "Motorwerk" in Berlin. "We are proud to have earned the trust shown by Porsche", said Robert Suvak, who is responsible for Sales Volkswagen Group at DRÄXLMAIER. "Receiving the Volkswagen Group Award 2017 is a recognition of the achievements of our employees and is a great incentive for the future."

Together with the DRÄXLMAIER Group, Porsche is the first to develop a battery system for that is based on an 800 volt technology. This innovation enables previously unattainable driving performance and charging speed and sets standards in sporting electromobility. In his speech, the VW Group CEO Matthias Müller pointed out the importance of electromobility and innovative battery technology: "That is the future of our industry – our shared future. Thank you for your willingness to tread new paths along with us."

The DRÄXLMAIER Group will make the high-performance 800 volt overall battery systems for Porsche in Sachsenheim near Stuttgart. DRÄXLMAIER is currently setting up highly automated production there and is creating new sustainable jobs for highly qualified employees. "We have been setting up the business area of storage systems since 2009 now", explained the CTO of the DRÄXLMAIER Group Dr. Martin Gall.
"Receiving the Porsche order confirms that we are combining the right competences as a battery systems developer and integrator. For us, the Volkswagen Group Award is both a motivation and an incentive."
