Sustainability in the Supply Chain

Sustainable supply chains contribute significantly to the DRÄXLMAIER Group's success and help us achieve our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. That is why we have extended our commitment to meeting economic requirements and fulfilling our ecological and social responsibilities to our value chain.

We therefore expect our suppliers to place just as much importance on sustainability as we do. On these pages, our suppliers can learn more about the DRÄXLMAIER Group's sustainability activities. With these requirements, we are confident that we are meeting the essential prerequisites for working together.

Business Partner Code of Conduct Sustainability

The principles of our Business Partner Code of Conduct for Sustainability represent the minimum requirements for all suppliers with regard to corporate ethics, environmental protection, resource conservation, human rights, and social standards. Acceptance of our Business Partner Code of Conduct for Sustainability is a prerequisite for mutual cooperation. Together with the supplier self-assessment, the Business Partner Code of Conduct for Sustainability forms our Sustainability Check (S-Check).

Supplier self-assessment

Using standardized questionnaires from our partner IntegrityNext, we create transparency and can better monitor and evaluate our suppliers with regard to key sustainability and compliance aspects. From January 1, 2023, all companies with at least 3,000 employees in Germany will be obliged to comply with the human rights and environmental due diligence requirements specified in the law in an appropriate manner in their supply chains. With IntegrityNext, we therefore also fulfill the core elements of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. The supplier self-assessment, together with the business partner code of conduct for sustainability, forms our Sustainability Check (S-Check).

Reduction of CO2e emissions

The CO2e data of your products are extremely important building blocks for us in order to be able to carry out CO2e accounting for DRÄXLMAIER products and to work with you on the continuous improvement of our climate targets. The CO2e footprint will also be an important criterion in future sourcing decisions.

Sustainability-Check (S-Check)

Before the DRÄXLMAIER Group places new orders on the market, it conducts a review of the providers/suppliers, known as the Sustainability Check (S-Check). Suppliers are analyzed in terms of their performance with regard to sustainability requirements in accordance with the applicable ESG standards in order to meet legal requirements and reduce risks in the supply chain. Suppliers who do not meet the minimum requirements are not considered in the DRÄXLMAIER Group's award process.

The sustainability standards review (S-Check) consists of two components:

1. Confirmation of the DRÄXLMAIER Group Business Partner Code of Conduct for Sustainability

The voluntary commitment to comply with the DRÄXLMAIER Group Business Partner Code of Conduct for Sustainability forms the basis for mutual cooperation.

2. Supplier self-assessment of their sustainability performance

Together with our partner IntegrityNext, we analyze our suppliers using specific questionnaires on topics such as environmental protection, human rights, occupational safety, and responsibility in the supply chain. The results of the assessments are decisive for the S-Check evaluation and thus also for future cooperation.

Contracts can only be awarded if the DRÄXLMAIER Group Business Partner Code of Conduct Sustainability is recognized and the self-assessment questionnaires yield positive results.

Evaluation of sustainability

To evaluate the sustainability performance of our suppliers we have developed a calculation method based on the sustainability self-disclosure and the evaluation of various certificates. This calculation enables us to directly compare the sustainability performance of our suppliers and implement it in the general supplier evaluation.

Online training: Sustainability in the Supply Chain

The DRÄXLMAIER Group offers practical online training that helps our suppliers meet the requirements of sustainable and responsible business practices. The aim of the training is to provide our suppliers with an in-depth understanding of specific sustainability requirements and processes. This enables them to effectively integrate sustainable practices into their business processes and successfully implement the DRÄXLMAIER Group's sustainability goals.
