There’s hardly a vehicle function that isn’t connected to the electrical system of the car or supplied with power or data by it. Distribution, protection, contacting: These three areas have to work together in harmony and naturally, like in a real nerves system. Every electrical system is different and sets its own standards. Because up to 2,200 individual wires can be combined to generate 1031 different variants. A masterpiece of complexity that DRÄXLMAIER achieves and configures exactly down to the very last detail like no other.
Increasing sustainability
We continually optimize our wiring harnesses in terms of topology and architecture. This brings with it many advantages and sustainability effects: Wherever possible, we reduce the number, length, and cross-section of the wires or use weight-optimized materials. This way, we continually decrease the overall weight of electrical systems as well.
From many individual wires to a zonal architecture: This is how we drastically reduce the number of wires. It is possible thanks to our new DRÄXLMAIER 12-volt power interface, among other innovations. The intelligent distributor enables us to configure a zonal electrical system with many advantages: less complexity, higher standardization, and therefore more automation. Overall, a zonal electrical system is more sustainable than its predecessor thanks to higher energy efficiency, energy recovery, and lightweight design.
The development of zonal electrical systems is the next logical step. One that we have taken. Based on our expertise in electronics, we developed the DRÄXLMAIER 12-volt power interface as an intelligent distributor for the zonal electrical system of future electrical system architectures. It is designed in accordance with ISO 26262 to meet the highest safety requirements right from the start. The systems are protected electronically and via software-defined fusing – the highest standard of vehicle electrical supply..
