Milestones 1983-1987

1983
Operations continue to expand. Dräxlmaier can look back on 25 years of dynamic growth, expanding from one company to six, from a staff of ten to 1,300.

1984
The first issue of "D-report", the company newsletter, appears. The year marks the beginning of systematic internal communications and the launch of a company suggestion box. The year also sees a record number of vocational trainees - 46. The president of Germany thanks Dräxlmaier "for exemplary service in providing job training to young people".

1985
The group incorporates to keep pace with growth, giving rise to Lisa Dräxlmaier GmbH and Eldra Kunststofftechnik GmbH. Four new foreign affiliates take up operations and a centralized EDP network links the entire company.

1987
Dräxlmaier's typical supply chain takes shape with construction of its automated high-rise parts warehouse. The warehouse anticipates the trend to just-in-time/customer-specific wire harnesses. In retrospect, the high-rise warehouse (enlarged several times since then) has been the basis of all the logistical structures so key to Dräxlmaier's dynamic growth.
